Maybe I'll get attacked for saying this but I genuinely do not understand why so many people are either: trying to start labor early or requesting voluntary inductions. Why not just let your baby do its thing?

I am not talking about people who NEED to be induced due to medical reasons. I'm reading post after post of people as early as 35 weeks looking for signs of labor or asking about ways to move things along.

Maybe I'm old fashioned or something is wrong with me but I don't understand.

I understand 37 weeks is considered full term but that does not mean your baby is guaranteed to be ready to arrive. Our due dates are truly estimates.

Please don't attack me but maybe explain why this phenomenon is happening?
