Our doctor has privileges in two hospitals near us, and based on recommendations and my sister-in-law’s experience, we’ve selected one of the hospitals for our delivery in March. Our OB gave us info on childbirth classes for both places, and when we were looking it up, we realized that taking the classes at the hospital won’t be easy for us. First off, the hospital is about 40 minutes away. Classes are on weeknights (7-9 pm) and my husband works in the city, so to get there on time he would have to leave work around 5, which just isn’t feasible for him right now. With winter coming, I’m also not loving the idea of driving in crappy weather for that long.

The hospital near us (5 minutes away) offers childbirth classes that seem fine (from online reviews), and it would be much easier for both my husband and I to go to them (same basic schedule, weeknights at 7). Do you think it matters where we do the classes? I’d obviously schedule a separate tour at the hospital we’re delivering at, which they do on weekends. Or should we suck it up and go to the farther hospital?
