What's your day like?

Question

My baby is staying awake longer and longer during the day now but she is so fussy unless I'm feeding her or holding her.  What do you guys do while your baby is awake to keep them occupied? My husband goes back to work next week and I might lose my mind without being able to pass her off to him.

I have an older child, so sadly I can’t always hold baby. I will try the swing, bouncy chair, etc if baby seems happy and fed. Once she fusses I will move her and see if that helps. If not, of course I will pick her up or baby wear. Try to put baby down whenever they are happy so they know that not being held is okay. You can’t hold them every minute of the day and that’s okay!
I’ve figured out first thing in the morning she loves her swing for a half hour which allows me time to feed me and older sibling, get dressed, etc. 
You will find your routine just let it evolve naturally and don’t be surprised if it takes a few weeks of trial and error to get your rhythm!

My 6 week old son is the same way. More and more alert but also incredibly fussy now and won’t allow me to put him down anywhere for very long. I’ve ended up baby wearing him or holding him. He won’t be this small for very long so I’m treasuring it.
