I'm considering changing my major to pre med and I wanted to know everyone's experience as a premed student. I'm not sure what to do with my life but I like the idea of being a doctor. I'm just not sure I have what it takes

just make sure you are academically successful. It's really hard later on if you're not.

I guess I'm considered pre med. it honestly doesn't matter what major you take, as long as you take the requirements for the test and med school requisites then you'll be good. 
You have to look into those two...prepare for mcat and pick the med school you wanna go to and work from there. 
You definitely need lots of bio classes, you need chem, physics, and other stuff like psych and A&P.; Make sure to do your research. 
Maybe you can do what I plan on doing? I'm majoring in Bio with chem minor and once I finish my 4 years, i plan on working at a lab or as an assistant at a doctor's office to make some money or get a feel about becoming a physician. If I like it then I'll continue studying (and working) to get there. 
For now I'm just studying and following the path I made, talk to your academic advisers or look for pre med programs at your uni. I'm also going to volunteer during summers at a hospital instead of the animal shelter now. You should try to volunteer to see if you'd like being there for the rest of your life! I'd also like to go see surgeries one of these days at the hospital 😁
