Pitocin induction, baby girl is here 🙌 no epi

Erin
We came in at 9:15 am and was started on the pit drip around 10:30 am I was 1 1/2 cm dilated once started. Dr checked me at 12:30 pm and he broke my water, I was 2-3 cm 80% effaced and 0 station. I sat on the birthing ball for a while as contractions got a little stronger then decided to walk for about 45 mins. Came back to the room and got checked around 4pm I was a 4 1/2 to 5 cm dilated so the nurse gave me the peanut ball to put in between my legs while I laid on my right side. Baby girl didn't like that side her heart rate was dropping with contractions so we flipped to lay on my left side and contractions got much stronger. I asked Robert to call mom and sister to come in at this point and we started to play worship music and I was trying to focus on the music and to pray. By the time mom and sister got here I was starting to have to hum and moan through the contractions so the nurse checked me again and I was a 7 cm and had some bleeding now. I got back on the birthing ball and the contractions got back to back fast and were unbearable at this point and I had so much pressure I couldn't sit all the way on my ball, I told them I wanted the epi I couldn't do it anymore so I climbed back in the bed and the nurse checked me and I was 10cm and baby was +1 in the birthing canal so we were ready to push! I said thank you Jesus! I was so relieved to hear that. I was holding onto my husband to my left and I remember kissing his arm and loving on him it made me feel better and my sister had my right leg lifted up for me. My husband was rubbing my hair and my face and telling me it was ok, I asked him to pray and he did I have no idea what he said but it was so soothing to me. My mom and sister were telling me I was doing a good job and that helped me too it was very encouraging. Dr came in and I had already started to push at this point I couldn't help it. I could feel her head descend down further with every contraction and push. Nurse or dr I'm  not sure which checked me to see where her head was and then the nurse was moving the monitor to keep up with baby girl and it was so uncomfortable I remember asking her to stop touching my stomach. They asked me to move down towards the edge of the bed and I said I can't - I felt like I couldn't move my lower body all I wanted to do was push her out! Someone- I'm assuming the Dr put his arms under my butt and thighs and moved me down to the edge of the bed and I was so happy he did that for me! I was trying to pace my pushes bc with my first i tore very badly internally and externally so I was trying my best not to tear. The Dr started to do perennial massages on me and then I felt something warm and soothing and said ooooo what's that? Dr said it's warm soapy water and I said oh that feels so nice!! It was so soothing to me at that point lol I remember hearing someone giggle at me and someone told him he's the only one to do something that made me feel better so far. Then I felt the "ring of fire" at this point and dr asked if I tore with first baby I said yes very badly he said ok pant for me just a little while so I breathed in and out over and over and didn't push. Dr shot my perineum with lidocaine and cut a small incision after that I was feee to push and out popped baby girls head which was such a huge relief then next push came the rest of her. Her placenta came out shortly after that and we waiting to cut the cord until it was done pulsing. Dr numbed my perineum and I have one stitch. Praise God my sweet little girl was born at 5:36 PM 6 pounds 9 ounces and 19 inches long 💕💕💕
I have heard that pitocin induction is so much worse than natural labor- my first was natural right under 30 hours of labor, no epidural no pitocin or anything to speed up labor. compared to pitocin id say they hurt the same, pitocin contractions just get more intense much faster. In my first labor by the time I was ready to give up it was time to push, same as this one 🙌🤗 my baby girl is beautiful and I feel so blessed to be her mommy 💕
