Am i in an abusive relationship?

I have being dating my boyfriend for a year , he is a really smart guy and charming . A couple of days ago we were talking normal , he asked me a question about something that i am really private about and then i lied to him but seconds after told him the truth , i was nothing major but he got mad at me for lying and he then pulled my hair hard .... he usually does that during our intimate time but never when he is angry.... is this a sign of abuse?
