Miscarriage and medical malpractice
Has anyone every experienced a loss that was considered medical malpractice/ negligence? Sorry for the long story
I had a miscarriage at 17 weeks back in august. Months prior during my prenatal appointments I informed my doctors of abdominal pain that I was having and it was blown off as round ligament pain. Eventually I got fed up called them because I was still in pain and now bleeding at this point and they treated me for a bladder infection before getting the testing results back. Days later I called back because the symptoms had not improved after taking an antibiotic and that’s when they informed me that I did not have a bladder infection so I should come in to find out what’s going on. They did an ultrasound and found a blood clot. I was told it was common it will pass on it’s own and not given any further instructions. I ended up going into labor that night. They were able to stop it and transferred me to another hospital to get my cervix stitched but after the ambulance ride my water broke. My sons heart stopped beating a couple days after and I had to deliver him. I am currently requesting my records from the office and they are telling me they don’t have any doctors notes from the same visits were I initially complained about the pain but they have them for when I came into the office sick. How does a doctors office not have any documentation written from an office visit. Does this make any since to anybody?
