Cervix high and open.

I checked my cervix yesterday and it was low and closed. Felt like the tip of my nose. Today when I checked, it was high and open.... donut like. My question is I did take a opk. It’s negative. Could I have missed my surge? Planning on BD tonight. Does an open cervix automatically mean you’re ovulating? Thanks!!
