Losing virginity & long distance relationships

This guy and I started dating a month ago and we are now talking about having sex. He clearly wants to, and I want to too as long as we’re in a relationship, I’m not one for “hookups” - I tried and it didn’t work. He just told me that he’s moving back to his hometown (2 hours away) which makes me hesitant to have sex with him especially if we can’t make this work. Any advice/ personal experiences with long distance?
