My fiancé left 3 weeks ago to start his USMC training on Parris Island. Thankfully, this isn’t the first time we have been long distance before and know that we can make this work. We spent a year apart when he took a Gap year between high school and college. The difference (and the hard part) is not being able to talk to him. He can write letters but so far I haven’t received anything. They say it can take a little over three weeks to get the first letter. I am so proud of him though and it makes the pain worth it. In the end, the love of my life will be a Marine who is dedicated to serving his country and the people that he loves. To me, that’s AMAZING!
