Prioritizing Your Man

I have a question for you ladies. Is it weird to put my man above anyone else? I try to spend every minute that I'm not sleeping or working with my fiance. If a friend or family member invites me to do something, I always check with him first. I DO NOT ask permission, I don't want to make him seem controlling, but I ask in case he might have something planned for us to do together. We work opposite schedules, I'm on nights, he works days, so we don't see each other much anyway, and on my days off, I usually stay at home with him. I will admit I am guilty of blowing off friends or family to spend time with my man, but, to my way of thinking, he's the person I'm spending the rest of my life with, not them, so I should work harder to nourish this relationship. Some of my family & friends have made comments about this from time to time, insinuating that he's "controlling", or that I can have a good time without him. They don't seem to understand that it's MY decision to put him first. He does not mind if I go out, he encourages me to make more friends, and whenever I do go out, he simply tells me to be safe and have fun. I just wondered if any other ladies feel this way or if anyone else works to put their man before anyone else.
