39+3...Frustrated (&nervous)!

Currently 39+3 and have only just been tested for gestational diabetes as little baby is measuring not so little (8lb14!) and there was a spike in growth between by 28week and 32week midwife appointment, but due to my regular midwife having a two month holiday I was tossed off on other people who didn’t seem bothered. It just seems so late now!

I find out the results of my test tomorrow but because my due date is this Sunday I’ve been told I will be induced regardless of the result it just depends who’s going to take care of me; pregnancy daycare or the diabetic specialists...

I’m very frustrated that they’ve only picked this up now as it seems too late to have any real plan - esp as he isn’t showing signs of coming naturally.

Hopefully I’ll still be able to have the natural birth I wanted but now very nervous!

Anyone else been frustrated with the midwives in this country? American mums seem a lot more informed during their visits but I suppose it’s because they’re paying for it 🙄😒
