Tubal Ligation?

Can anyone share their experiences with getting your tubes tied after a vaginal birth. How can I prepare myself? Will they take me to another room? Put me under? I’m only 30 weeks pregnant now but I want to be prepared.

I had my son in June 2nd and had to wait until August 15th to get my tubes tied. They said it was something to do with my insurance(I have Medicaid). However it wasn't to bad. I went in that morning and got all prepped(HCG test and in a gown etc.) They put me under and I woke up in recovery very briefly to someone asking me if I was ready to be moved. Then woke back up in a different room with horrible shoulder pain! I had gas build up from the anesthesia. I wasn't hardly sore at all from the surgery itself. Took just a little over a day for the shoulder pain to go away. You'll be restricted a little on how much you can lift and no intercourse for two weeks. But other than that no problems at all! my sister had her tubes tied and she regrets it. she wants another one so badly she is considering adoption.. she cries all the time because she wished she just used birth control. she only has a boy and a girl.. and really just wants another baby. you should reconsider look into different birth control options.
