Do you change your tampon every time you pee?

I had a friend tell me she changes her tampon every time she pees. That seems wasteful. I usually change my tampon every 4 hours or so. Sometimes I pee 2-3 times during that timeframe, depending on how much I’m drinking. She says it’s gross to have urine get on the string....so that’s why she changes it out every time...

I thought it was common sense to hold the string out of the way while you pee but I guess not.

I don’t let my string hang I usually tuck it to the side or something lmaooo so when I pee it doesn’t get wet 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ but that’s just me !

I change mine every time I pee..same as your friend peeing with it in feels weirds and grosses me out lol its why I always buy 2 boxes!

I change it everytime I pee and it's only because I don't like having the feeling that maybe pee soaked into the bottom of the tampon,but during my periods I didn't pee alot when I had a tampon in.

i change every 8hrs or sooner if needed. give it a lil tug. if it comes out easily its definitely due for a change.

I change mine every time. Pee gets on the string and the inserted part. The wet feeling isnt for me.

I use a cup so luckily I don’t worry about that anymore 🤷🏽‍♀️ but when I used to use tampons, I’d tuck the string in before I peed. That sounds so incredibly wasteful and expensive!! I couldn’t imagine having to do that.. like, just dry it up with toilet paper??? Idk???

Honestly I don’t 🤦‍♀️ but when I take it out I always use toilet paper to remove it

That’s too often I think. I remember reading somewhere that it’s actually bad to change it that often or to keep in past 8 hrs due to toxic shock syndrome. Actually here it is :”The bacteria that cause TSS are sometimes introduced into the bloodstream through tiny tears in the vagina caused by removing tampons that are too dry.”(when removing them too soon)
