Terrifying delivery

Ra

After 6 weeks, I finally have found some time (kiddo is asleep 😳) to tell my birth story.

My pregnancy was rough, to say the least. I had a Zofran pump, at home IV fluids and my epilepsy went bonkers! Due to advanced maternal age (that means you're old 😂), my HG, and my seizures I was put on bed rest in April and had to see not only the OB that would driver me, but a high risk maternal fetal med doc.

At a 30 week ultrasound we were told the cord was wrapped twice which meant NST 2 times per week. He looked and sounded great every time and we all agreed I could deliver vaginally since the docs knew. But then, 15 days before my due date, everything wasn't OK. My ultrasound showed my amniotic fluid had dropped to 2.7 in 3 days even though my membranes had not ruptured and I was very very well hydrated. The doctor actually came into the room and that had never happened! I was given paperwork stating I needed to induced and deliver within 24 hours. So I ran home, showered, called my future MIL and Seabee went. I was admitted and was given 2 doses of cervadil between 2p and 8p. But I KNEW something wasn't right and told my fiancé. I had been hearing his heartbeat 2 times a week every week and knew what it sounded like. It was slower and I could tell. Not more than 5 minutes later my OB came into my room and said she didn't like what she was seeing. C-section time 😢 I lost it and cried my eyes out. This was at 9:45p.

I was prepped, my fiancé given scrubs and away we went. Since I had not had an epidural I was given a spinal block and it didn't even hurt! I knew the doc who did it because he did a fellowship in my home town and my mom is a nurse. I felt safe knowing that.

I was draped and fiancé came back. And at 10:16pm on Friday the 13th Dalton Mark entered the world 💙💙💙

I don't think I have every been so scared and so happy at the same time! He came in at 7lbs 2oz and 19.5 inches...screaming his adorable little head off.

I was later told that not only was his cord wrapped around his neck 2 times, he had also managed to wrap his left arm too. He never would have come down so it's a good thing for a C Section!

I couldn't be more in love 😍

And after 6 weeks yesterday, baby and mommy are doing well! At his 1 month well check he was up over 3 lbs from when we left the hospital (after less than 48 hours) and grew 2 inches!!

I love you Mr. Dalton ❤️ more than you'll ever know!
