Opks waste of money?

Rashonda

So after 2 and a half years of infertility my doctor has confirmed that I do not ovulate and he thinks its because of hormonal imbalance. I have very low progesterone . Haven't had a period since September. He prescribed me with a high dosage of progesterone that I'm supposed to take twice daily. He's said progesterone can sometimes shock the ovaries and make me start ovulating again after I finally start my period. So I suggested using opks to see if I could detect ovulation (which I've never used before) and he said it would be a waste of money. He recommended charting my temperature.

What do you all prefer? What do you use to check for ovulation and which method has proved to be the most accurate for you?
