There's no need to be going through anybody's phone. You will see and know everything you need to know when the time is right. When the time comes just leave him. No need to be dramatic or anything.

Voice your insecurities. Some men don’t realize they have grown distant. Let him know how you feel and what he’s doing or not doing that results in you feeling that way. 
Give him a chance to remedy the situation. If he doesn’t care or even try...well...that says where he stands VERY clearly
