TCC using OPK

So I generally have long cycle 32-35 days. This is my second month using the clear blue advanced tests. First month after 5 negatives, 7 flashing days of smileys the night of day 7 I finally had a solid smiley face and was very crampy. I ovulate the next day. This month we started testing later in my cycle and the first 2 days it was negative the third day it went straight to a solid smiley. This meant I was technically ovulating 5 days earlier then last month..with no cramping. I’m so confused!
