Nipple pain during breast feeding
I’m a new mom of a 4 day old - it’s been a wild experience so far! Breast feeding has been stressful, and I feel like the hospital did not do much to support me as a new mom learning to feed. My nipples developed this red line down the center as seen in the photo, and I would cringe in pain ever time my baby latched on. Once my milk came in my nipples got so big that baby won’t even try to latch. All I read is that breast feeding shouldn’t be painful. How can it not be?! I have a lactation specialist coming tomorrow and I’ve taken to pumping in the meantime. Is anyone else experiencing this?! I’m like bawling every day because it’s been hard to feed baby. What’s working for others?
