catfish ?

I don't really do the meeting people on line thing . I've seen some really good things come out of online dating so im deciding to try & I think I'm being catfished . I ask for calls and don't get them . he says he's in the hospital alot & has cancer & I don't want be insensitive & just outright say I don't believe him Incase this is just me over thinking , but I am skeptical. 
how do I handle this situation ? #helpme

I've been through this with a guy.... told me he was in the hospital alot from pneumonia and he eventually died from it but his "friend" stepped in and was like he would want us to be together...later on I move across the state to live with him and I get there to find out his face was his face...but not his name...his name was not Eric it was Jeremy ...and Andrew never died from pneumonia...he was a made up person and he killed him off to try and won me over to his true self...this man was also married and in the air Force....trust your instincts and don't waste four years like I did...no man dying of cancer in his right mind would let a girl fall for him knowing he could die

so I met my husband online. long story short that was almost 6 years ago and we lost touch for a while before reconnecting early 2016. anyway, at that point of my online dating days I would purposely go on dates w dudes who had no clear pictures of their face (the one who I ended up marrying was one of them) bc I had been catfished a couple times so I said fuck it I'd rather not know what to expect. but I know I'm wired wrong so that's not something I would recommend. Your dude definitely sounds sketchy.

i met my husband online.  i knew he was the one because he was the only guy i met online who never once asked me for 'sexy' pics (aka nudes).    i started conversations with quite a few guys, but quickly blocked those that sent unrequested dick pics or asked for nudes right away.   meeting a 'good one' online means you have to weed through a lot of guys.   usually you can tell after a couple of conversations who is for real and who is just looking for sexting or side chicks or a distraction.  there are good ones online..you just gotta learn to read between the lines.

I would say that it’s an important part of a relationship to you and if he’s unwilling to talk on the phone or video chat that you would prefer just to be friends. While you understand he may not be completely comfortable that communicating especially verbally is a relationship need for you.

It sounds fishy. Why do you want to invest any time in this guy with the way he is acting? When dating online if a guy genuinely wants you for you and doesn't want to play games, he's going to WANT to do the things you are asking for with calls, etc. My advice is not to push for a relationship with a man that has thrown so many red flags from the outset.
