Rubella non-immune???

So I was looking over my paperwork for my Cardiologist today. In my ongoing health issues section it says “rubella non-immune status, antepartum”. What in the world does that mean. I had all of my vaccines growing up and I thought that meant that you weren’t vaccinated for it. I’m really confused...

Vaccine immunity doesn’t last.
This is totally normal.
You would have to keep getting booster shots for your whole adult life if you wanted to keep up an active immunity.

It means you didn't develop an immunity to rubella. totally normal. my mom was non immune, I was non immune. you'll just get the vaccine again.

Me too!! Just need to redo the vaccine once baby is born. Just keep your heads clean and stay away from sick people in the mean time! 😊

My immunity has lessened to the point that I too am no longer immune. You can have a booster vaccine when not pregnant. It’s a live vaccine, which is why you cannot be pregnant when receiving it.

I’m non-immune. It just means you need to keep getting the vaccine every few years. For me, the day I gave birth they came and gave me a shot for it. They won’t until after you’ve had the baby but it’s definitely not something you want to contract, especially if you have a new baby.
