Is it safe to take Vitex to try and get pregnant ? I’m regular and my periods are light..

Just out of curiosity if you have regular cycles why take Virex?  I have short luteal phase and bad PMS so I take Vitex to help with that.  I have read you should stop taking it when you find out you are pregnant though.

I’ve had regular periods up until the last two months. Started taking vitex a month and a half ago. 
This month I ovulated on time, it helped w pms last month and the biggest thing I noticed is it helps balance my mood. I’m sure it’s improved other things- I just feel better overall.
I’ve read A LOT of women say take vitex through your first trimester, slowly weaning off. Do not stop immediately after finding out you’re pregnant as it can cause a drop in progesterone causing you to loose the baby.

Is it safe ?
