Is this okay to do??

My baby likes to latch to my right boob so while he's latched and eating I pump the left side. Somebody just told me that you shouldn't do that because you won't produce from both sides at the same time. But my baby seems content and full with it.

It's perfectly fine.  If that was the case there would not be double pumps.   Not to mention people feed twins at the same time.

It's ok to do, but I would probably switch it up, if possible... let baby spend some time on the left while you pump on the right. Babies get more milk out than the pump does, so you may end up not producing as much milk on the side you pump on.

Yes your breasts make milk at the same time. Or at least mine do. I feel when it lets down and when I pump/nurse on one side, the other side goes whether or not something is attached to it.

It's totally fine. I did this for months and my baby was very fed and I had an oversupply of bottled milk from pumping the one side.

I dunno 🤷🏻‍♀️ my baby must be a glutton then. She nurses both sides almost every time 😂
I only pump 1x a day. And that’s during her 5/6am bottle that Dad gives after her long sleep. And I pump 6-8oz then so I have enough to create bottle for next morning as well as excess to freeze. I don’t pump during the day ever unless she gets a bottle if I have an appt or she’s extra fussy etc and I’ll just pump in place of her nursing. I’ve never pumped during her nursing though. She goes 10-20min per side. And gets pissed sometimes when I switch sides. So I can’t imagine pumping it out and leaving her none. She’d be like this... 😡😩😭
