Christmas trees!?

What in the world are you all doing with your trees? We put ours up today and my son keeps taking the ornaments and saying “ball” then throwing them lol we’ve moved them all up then he starts going for the lights. I’m hoping it’s just because it’s new. He normally listens fairly well

We put not breakable ones on the bottom and I put a bell where he can reach it. He’s allowed to ring the bell but not touch anything else. He’s pulled a few off to look at them but he’s doing good so far.

We put a gate up but it obviously didn't work! Nothing stops my 19 month old.

There’s no way we can put one up. My son did this to Santa’s tree at the mall, to my dad’s tree, and to the photographers tree when we did a photo shoot for Christmas. So to save the hassle we are buying a mini tree like from T.J. Maxx and placing it on a surface where he can’t reach. We also usually have gifts for ages before Christmas, but he would definitely unwrap them, so we are stashing them all over the house. I have stocking stuffers in Tampon boxes!

Our daughter is doing the same thing! We thought about putting a baby gate up but i know that will only make her want to get to it more.

We have shatter proof ornaments and we just let her help us put them back on the tree. She thinks it's cool and will clap when she puts them on herself! It's worked. The ornaments stay on tree.

We figured out that if we keep the lights off, he forgets the tree is there, but if we turn the lights on it's like a moth to a flame. So, we keep the lights off until he goes to bed. It works like a charm!

We put ours in her old hexagon playpen, and then just had the ornaments where she couldn't reach. She loves looking at it!

We have shatter proof plastic.  She hasn’t messed with the tree or the presents.
