When to test

Question

So my SO and I decided to start trying on November 19th, I read online that some tests are very sensitive and can give a positive as soon as 6 days so I took one today and got a negative. I knew I would but I think that I’m too excited and just want the positive to come. 
When should I take the next test??

Answer

It doesn’t matter about the “how many days before period” as that’s based on averages. What matters is how many days past ovulation. And more specifically, implantation. Generally you can start testing from 10dpo. But you may not implant until 10-12dpo which would mean HCG wouldn’t show up on a test until 12-14dpo sometimes even later. Hope that helps x
