Depo shot, pros, cons?

I had my baby a week ago and I'm starting to think about birth control options, iv always been on the pill but I'd like something I don't have to think about every day! Iv had the implant and that didn't go well! I don't want a coil or anything fitted, that freaks me out! So I'm thinking about the depo shot! Any pros and cons?

I'm on Nur-esterate it's an every 8 weeks shot and iv had minimal side effects. pro is you don't have to take it every day. con is just remember to set a calendar reminder for 8 weeks time again

the depo shot is horrible! gave me the worst months of my life and even landed me in the hospital because im sure it gave me ovarian cysts when i was 17.  if you dont want more kids, tubal ligation is the way to go.

You're not supposed to get your period for 3 months but just one shot stopped mine for almost 5. I also went down a cup size, which is common on the depo, but it still bummed me out. My bikinis and bras were all too big.
The research I found on mayoclinic and webmd that scared me into not wanting another shot is that women have a very low chance of getting pregnant for 1.5 years after their last shot was administered (even if it's just one shot). That sounds super intense and I want to eventually have kids so I got back on the pill instead.

I gained 60 pounds in 6 months. but a pro for me was it stopped my periods which I loved because mine are very heavy
