When is the first appointment supposed to be?

Judging from my last period, I'm 7 weeks 1 day. I've been trying to make an appointment with my doctor and keep getting the run around and having to call every day for a week and waiting for the nurses to call back. I love her but her staff is so incompetent 🙄 by the time they call back and I'm actually scheduled, I could be into the 2nd trimester... im giving them one more week because I like my doctor so much but then I'll find another. Just wondering if it's a requirement to get prenatal care within a certain time? I'm not high risk and not having any bad signs although I did miscarry in April. It's just annoying and I want to be seen and get relief knowing my baby is healthy.
