Breastfed babies

How many ounces of breastmilk would a 6 month old baby need? I am going to work for the first time since having my baby and he has been exclusively breastfed, he eats every 2 hours still so unsure how much milk to leave the sitter?

4-6 oz a feeding usually

The rule of thumb according to research is 1-1.5 ounces per hour. It's important to make sure your caregivers are doing paced bottle feeding to ensure baby isn't overfed, affecting your ability to pump enough. There are videos for this on YouTube. Bottle volume does not increase with time like formula does. Milk changes in composition to meet the needs of the child.

Sometimes 2 to 3 or 4 oz just depends how much milk I pump. Whatever I pump is what he drinks. Plus solids & water

You’ll get a feel for how much you get pumping and how much your baby eats while you’re gone in a week or so as well.A breastfed baby should never take more than about 6 oz a feeding. Be careful! My baby conned my sitter and my husband into giving her more than she needed. 😝
