Should I tell my boss or wait?
So I work as an RVT in a veterinary clinic. I’ve been in this field for 3 years & was doing this work when I was pregnant with my first daughter. I found out when I was 3 weeks pregnant and told my boss right away. They took me off of my regular duties and stuck me up front at the receptionist desk & I only worked 6-10 hours a week throughout my pregnancy. Now, here I am 3 weeks pregnant with my second child & im anxious to tell my boss because I’m afraid I’ll be put on light duty again. I could understand if the baby was at risk, but there are ways to get around the dangerous parts of my job. I’m torn and need some advice. I just don’t want my hours cut again. I can’t afford to go from 30 hours a week to 6. I can’t help support my family with that little bit of income. I don’t want to face retaliation. Can someone help me? Please don’t be rude or hateful. I understand my baby comes first, but at the same time, that doesn’t mean cutting my hours.
