Do you use essential oils?

I’m curious to see how many actually use essential oils. I am a few months in and love them! I do not believe that they “cure”, but I do believe that they help.

You have to buy true essential oil to get real benefits. I clean with lemon and orange oil. I include lavender in pretty much all of my beauty products. Tea tree as a disinfectant. Eucalyptus for stuffy nose or sore muscles. Citronella as bug spray. Spearmint in my toothpaste. Once I started using essential oils, it was very simple to make all of my beauty and body products.

I literally don’t get it. How does oil do anything but make you smell good?!?

I have used tea tree oil to reduce my psoriasis since I was a kid. Idk if that counts 😂

I use peppermint and lavender oil for my chronic headaches, they are life savers while I’m at work  since I obviously can’t smoke during the day

I use lavender sometimes... it’s supposed to be calming and relaxing, and help you sleep, but it doesn’t do much. I got these “happy” oils (grapefruit, oranges, lemon, and one with the combo of the oils just mentioned) and I don’t think that works.. I put a little on my wrists sometimes, but it doesn’t make me happy, just the same person I was when I woke up in the morning. The only reason I would get them again is for the scent.

My MIL and SIL are both into doTERRA. They're always talking about it and recently my MIL gave me a bunch of oils to have and use. I was super skeptical, but I decided I couldn't say they don't work if I didn't try them. I've been pleasantly surprised. Mostly I use them in a defuser and they smell great. I guess you could call it aromatherapy because some scents are relaxing and some make me feel energetic. 
I made some diapers rash lotion for my son out of lavender Melaleuca and frankincense oil mixed with fractionated coconut oil. Again, I was extremely skeptical that this would work but it really does work.
I passed a kidney stone 2 years ago. I had a scan of the kidney and so I know I have another stone in there. I've been having minor pain in that kidney everyday for at least 8 months, probably because of the stone. I read that lemon oil might dissolve kidney stones so I've been taking a few drops in water everyday for a while. I don't have pain in that kidney anymore. I know I can't prove anything but I think it's because of the lemon oil.
I'm not about to throw out all of my medicine in the cabinet but essential oils really do have a place in my home now.

Aren’t you not supposed to use these when pregnant? I’ve always wanted to try them because smells always worked for me but I swear some where I read you can’t use them while pregnant and I’ve been trying to wait lol
