Will I have a positive urine test at my first doctors appointment? Description included.

Question

I’m currently 10 weeks. I used to be a heavy smoker before I found out I was pregnant. Since finding out, I only used a few times a week to help with nausea. I currently live in Missouri USA but my family is concerned I will have a positive urine test at my first doctors visit. By this visit, I will be about 27 days clean. Do you think I will test positive and if so, what will my doctor say to me? I have quit since the nausea has subsided.

i smoked while pregnant, for severe nausea and puking. my son is 2. he is healthy n happy. i lost so much weight while pregnant i kept smoking my doctor said it was healthier for me to smoke bowls n bongs cuz paper causes cancer. i smoked everyday for 9 months cuz i couldnt eat or keep food down. it suvked alot. there are not alot of studies of marijuana and pregnancy.

So I used to smoke but I stopped as soon as I found out I was pregnant. When I had my first appointment, I know I totally still had it in my system, because it wasn't long after I had stopped. I gave a urine sample and they never questioned it. I think it's kind of the same as going to the ER, they won't criticize you for it or anything. But if they ask if you had done any recreational drugs or smoked anytime recently, I would recommend being honest with them. They won't report it or criticize you for it. Best of luck!

I don't think that they're testing for marijuana. every time you go to the doctors you will have you pee in a cup and they're just making sure that there is no infection. If you haven't brought it up they're not going to bring it up. i say your good.

They shouldn't be testing your urine for drugs, they are monitoring it to make sure theres not too much sugar, protein, bad bacteria or other yucky stuff that could signify infections, preeclampsia etc.

I'm current but not pregnant yet either. I share a lot with my doc and they know that as long as I stop 2-3 months before im due, I should be fine.

the doctors shouldn't be testing you for drugs to begin with, they should legally only use your urine for the medical purposes the explain to you. I don't think they can even run your urine for a drug test without your consent.
