Midwife?

Hi all, first-timer here. I got my positive at-home test last weekend and am now at 6 weeks. My husband and I don't really know what next step to take as I've had a naturopathic women's health doctor who doesn't do prenatal care. I've reached out to a local midwife office, and they said I don't need an appointment until I'm 10-11 weeks in. It just seems so... casual. Is waiting that long normal? Don't I need a blood test or something to confirm I'm even pregnant moreso than a home test, or is that just one of many things a more traditional ob would only do? Thanks!
