When did you start to lactate?

So right now I’m 23 weeks pregnant and I’m not lactating. I first started having some colostrum at about 17-18 weeks including about 5 droplets of actual milk from each breast, but it has stopped since then and I’ve had no sign of lactating since... is this normal?

Yes. Your milk doesn't come in until a few days after birth. You may get a few drops of colostrum here and there but the absence or presence of it in pregnancy has no effect on how you will lactate once your baby is born.

With my first son I was lactating by 20 weeks...this pregnancy 32 weeks and nothing yet but the Dr keeps saying I should have no problem because you usually don't until after you give birth and it was rare that I did so early the first time...it was also a long time ago so I was much younger and this time my breasts have actually shrunk as well full cup size gone already

I started leaking colostrum at 11 weeks and this is my first kid. It’s weird because now at almost 21 weeks I leak all of the time and it sucks, consider yourself lucky lmao.

You only lactate after birth.

perfectly normal, however its not milk you're lactating as that doesnt come in until after birth. just white colostrum.
