Heavy Period??

Question

Is it normal to have a period so heavy that you soak through super + tampons in about 30 minutes?  With blood clots about as large as a my thumb that fall out when I change tampons?  Or is that unusually heavy???  I’m just wondering if this is just me or if others bleed this much too.

Go to the E.R make sure you’re not losing too much blood... I’ve had the same thing happen. Called the doctors and the sent me to E.R. Everything turned out to be okay... better safe than sorry.

I’m also that heavy. I had to switch to ultra size tampons. Sometimes I wear both a pad and ultra tampon when it’s really heavy. It has been suggested I go on birth control to possibly get a lighter period but I don’t like the side effects of any of them and ones I did try including an IUD didn’t help in decreasing the flow. So I’ve learned to just deal with it.

Does this sound normal to you? Cause it’s definitely not. Go to your doctor, get examined, and get on birth control to help with the heavy periods. You could become anemic without it.
