me & my fiancée are thinking about eloping, probably in a different country but i just want to know everyone else's experience and how your family reacted?

my husband and I eloped a little over a month ago now! The majority of my family found out over Facebook (oops) but I have serious anxiety and a large family and trying to make personal calls was going to be too much. he invited one of his friends, and I did the same.. it was good because no family members could be mad that so and so was there and they weren't. we've dealt with minimal backlash (mostly from his friends). but the decision we made was so personal and we both know we have undying support from the other. I've had to work on just being confident with myself and my decisions, and I have been happier than EVER. :)

Yes! We did and I have to say I loved it it was so personal and gave us time to enjoy each other without anyone else... family threw us a party a month later his family was surprised and gave off a unsure vibe but then grew warmer knowing they couldn’t change anything & my family was so happy for me so I recommend it 100%.
