Pregnancy and piercings!?

so I’ve recently decided that I wanted to get some ear piercings. But I came to find out that it’s not advised during pregnancy? This is really the first time I’ve heard anything like this. I never would’ve thought it could harm the baby? Tattoos, smoking drinking I could see why, but idk about piercings....
I’m 23 weeks pregnant with my second child.
What are your views and opinions...

Any type of piercing regardless of how sterile everything is could produce infection from bacteria. You’re still putting a hole in your body and opening yourself to things like that, so I recommend you wait. I was 2 days away from an appointment with my piercer when I found out I was pregnant, and trust me I was bummed. But it’s something I can definitely wait for, they aren’t going anywhere.

The reason a piercing is not advised is because you could pass out which is bad for your baby or the possibility of contracting an infection, just like a tattoo. Just wait until you give birth then get pierced as much as you want!
