Is this normal for appointments?

I’m 5w 4d right now. I called the OB I decided to use today. They don’t do ultrasounds until 10 weeks so they scheduled me for December 28th but then my first actual appointment with the dr is not until Jan 17th. Is this normal or should I try to see another doctor?

Sounds normal. Every doctor has their own setup, mine for example did my first ultrasound right in the office on ny first visit but I was 10 weeks along. You could call around and see about getting another doctor, but I think you'll find the same procedure at most plus you like this one, right?

Just depends on drs. My first appointment was at 8 weeks with a nurse practitioner to make sure I was pregnant before letting me see my ob I guess it was only a urine test. Then my first ultrasound was scheduled for 12 weeks and right after I saw my dr. I had been seeing her for 4 years but didn’t like how she was as an ob so I’m actually going to see another dr in the same practice for my 16 week appointment. Anyway I actually got my first ultrasound at 10 weeks cause I started having some light pink spotting and my drs office had me do it.

normal. my 1st appt wasn't till 12. I got an ultrasound then came back the next week for my pap and blood work.

that's normal, I didn't have my first appointment until I was 10 weeks and didn't have my first ultrasound until I was 18 weeks
