Me and my boyfriend have been dating for about two months. I never had sex with him during my period and we both talked about it and agreed we want to. I'm currently on my period and I am going to see my boyfriend. I wear pads so it just feels like it'll kill the mood if it's getting hot and heavy and I'm like "hold on let me take off my pad🙄" should I take it off before we do it? I just don't know how to go about this lol its stupid I know but I don't want him to see my bloody pad

It's going to be awkward the first time let's just get that straight. After you do it though it just becomes normal. First off I would make sure your boyfriend knows you are on your period just to make sure he's not surprised by anything because even though they all think they know what's going on down there some really don't understand how much comes out/what it looks like, etc. especially if you're young. Again, while you're most likely not going to be gushing blood he will most likely get blood and other secretions on his penis. He needs to be prepared for that. Also, I wouldn't take off your pad before you start getting in to things because if you do your pants or underwear could get bloody and that's a whole other issue. Personally, I would leave it on until just a little bit before you begin intercourse. At that time explain you have to go to the bathroom. At that point if he knows you're on your period, which he should cause you told him, right? 😋 he will know what you're going to the bathroom to do. When you come back from the bathroom have a towel with you so you can lay it down where you are having intercourse and then just jump back into things. The towel will protect underneath you both and he can wipe off when you're both done. Once you start doing this it really isn't that big of a deal anymore, you'll see. Good luck!

I mean pads are attached to your underwear and you would have to take your underwear off anyway so it doesn't make a difference, just have sex how you normally would with the addition of a towel just in case.

Shower beforehand but preferably take a bath. (You don't bleed as quick after having a bath as compared to showering.) Honestly relax in bath about 5-10 minutes, longer if you want. Wear a panty liner. & then have another set of regular pads (that you can put on right after since your flow will be back to normal.) Also, lay a towel down as well. It also helps to keep moist wipes by you for a better clean up afterwards.

Remove your pad in the bathroom (wipe away any blood you may have on you) and bring a towel...preferably dark, trust me. Lay it down and use it to help clean up after. My husband and I always shower together afterwards 👍 it’s fun cleaning each other up after you’ve made a mess 😂

what I do is plan in my head when I wanna have the sex, and just go to the bathroom before getting started to clean up and grab a towel to throw under you if it's a heavy flow, or if you can, shower before getting started so it's not flowing much
