What do contractions feel like??

I’m 20 weeks and 6 days and my doctor told me that my cervix is measuring short and that I need to watch for contractions. I’m a FTM and I have no idea what I need to be watching for...

very strong menstrual craps. They will start off as just uncomfortable but when they get strong and have a rhythm that’s when you need to start timing them. My doctor told me 3-4 minutes apart is when you need to go the hospital.

The only thing I'd ever hear was pressure and period cramps. To me, contractions felt like a weird pressure pain in my pelvic area. That's the best description I have. In the beginning they were uncomfortable and started getting increasingly painful. I was induced and I thought for sure after 7 hours of contractions I'd be at a 3 to get an epidural. No such luck, lol. I was at a 1.

Actual labor contractions: you will know. There is no confusing them for anything else. 
Brixton Hicks feel like your belly tightens, like squeezing your fist shut. Sometimes they last a little longer and you don’t have to worry about them but if they become rhythmic and don’t go away after laying down on your side for a bit and drinking a glass of water make sure to call your care provider for advice.

Oh you'll know! They are unlike anything you've ever felt before. I remember people used to tell me, they feel like period cramps but worse. Haha, that was hilarious. WRONG! ALL WRONG!! They feel like hell! I also think it depends on the person, they may feel different for everyone. But for me, they hurt on a scale from 1 to 10, def a 10. The way they actually feel is hard to explain...
