To log, or not to log...? 🤔

Question

So I had a conversation with my little sister who has a 2 1/2 year old, and we were speaking about when she stopped logging diaper changes, feedings, sleep times, etc. Since my Harper is already a year old, I’ve had people asking when I’m going to stop logging her every move basically. (And of course the ever popular, “when will you stop nursing?) 🙄 Anyways, what are you mommas thinking in regards to when you’ll feel comfortable with not logging anymore? I’m super OCD about it, and I like knowing when she ate last, how long she slept, wet diapers, medicine and symptom logging, etc. and I’m just wanting thoughts and opinions! No advice is bad advice, and no opinion will be bashed or shunned. Just curious! ☺️✌🏻💕 picture just because my girl is beautiful to me. 💖💖💖

That’s awesome! We really only logged when she was a newborn to keep track of feeding in our state of sleep deprivation lol, after that she was a really easy baby schedule wise so we just ‘went with the flow’. She eats at the same times as we do, goes on the potty or I️ change her when she’s wet, only has milk in the morning and before bed, and naps once a day right after lunch. We don’t so much have a need to log anymore! But I️ would never judge a friend who did. Organization to the next level! I️ personally don’t have that patience and time these days...so wish I did!!!

honestly i stopped around 4 months or so. it wasnt for me, but if you like knowing do it as long as you want.

I still log naps and breastfeeding (although I'm transitioning to whole milk). I stopped logging diapers after a month maybe? not sure when. I'd say you could easily stop diaper logging unless you have concerns about it. you could just log poops maybe if constipation is an issue.  I like logging naps tho bc it helps me find patterns and I know roughly when he's tired based on how long he's awake so i might still doing it until he's down to one nap a day.

I stopped around 5 months I think because it was making my PPA worse.

We stopped at 6 months. Honestly I’ve enjoyed her so much because I am now 100% present rather than thinking if I logged something or timed something. I also became more in tune and able to better read my child.

Lol I never started unless you consider me counting the dirty diapers by the bed logging. Threw them out every night and only let the wet ones sit there for a while.

I logged for about a week or two and then stopped. My baby was too cranky to keep up with a log. If you like logging everything, then keep doing it! 🙂 Everyone always likes to share their opinions and annoying comments when you have a kid, it can be so frustrating sometimes! I've also had people surprised and comment on me still breastfeeding. It annoys me, but I just tell them that its recommended to do it until they are two and not uncommon for people to breastfeed for years in other countries. I'm trying to be nice, but soon may end up telling them that's none of their business. It's really better to do what works for us, since we are the caretakers. Don't stop because of other people! Only stop because you are ready and want to!

I think it's up to you! I stopped logging everything after a month. I only logged diaper changes and nursing. But at about 7 months I started to log my daughters sleep as we started some sleep training. I continued to log until we transitioned to 1 nap and were on a consistent schedule.
