Best way to insert it and it not hurt or be uncomfortable?

Last time I did I Was Sooo uncomfortable but was also very active ... it was very noticeable for me that it was in and I’m not sure if it worked? Does it have to be quite far up to work

The base of the tampon was right at my entrance and I was still getting blood onto my undies

The tampon was standard size and I’m a virgin so I don’t think it was too small

Help and advice please
