When to start buying baby stuff?

Hi mommas. I know it’s different for everyone, but when did you start buying big items like cribs and dressers for your baby? Currently 17 weeks and don’t have a thing. Wondering if I’m behind a bit

We bought the big things at 12 weeks (I miscarried twice at 8 weeks, so we felt safe at 12) 
Big ticket items are easy to sell or return if anything goes wrong. Then we waited for everything else after my baby shower glad we did, we got gifted everything else! My mom got the car seat and stroller, aunts got the bath things, MIL got us crib essentials and everyone else gave us diapers wipes and clothes!

I’m 24 weeks and we JUST started getting things and that’s mainly because of sales around the holidays.

we pretty much  waited until after the baby shower because my mom dad and aunt bought everything lol. cribs, strollers, car seats...my mom is even packing my hospital bag lol. When I say they bought everything I mean I don't need to buy my little girl anything else. I will say me and my husband did start to buy onsies and a few blankets at around 33 weeks.

We waited until after our shower and way late into the pregnancy. It allowed other people time to gift us things if they wanted and even if, God forbid, our baby was born way early, they would probably end up in the NICU long enough for us to get stuff together. Babies really don’t need much so there aren’t a lot of must have’s before baby is born that I can’t wait a week or so after.

we're holding off on the bigger furniture. we plan on moving in May and baby is due in August. so to make the move easier we're going to purchase them after we're moved in. waiting until after 12 weeks to buy the smaller stuff just encase we miscarry again, but I did get a really cute gender neutral 3 month pajama outfit I love

We starting picking up little things like blankets and onesies after every successful appointment starting at 12 weeks. Now that I’m 24 weeks and the twins will have to come by 36 weeks, we’ve started the nursery. The cribs, dresser, and rocking chair have all been picked out and we’re having them delivered here in about 5 weeks.

I started buying diapers and wipes when I first found out then lotions and soaps when I figured out what ones I liked best. Little things like bottles you can buy now, too. I also got my baby’s car seat and stroller before we knew what we were having- both are black so it’s gender neutral. Then what you find what you’re having you can buy clothes..I’d say buy bigger clothes because you will more then likely get a ton of clothes at your baby shower (if you decide to have one) in newborn or 0-3 months.

I started buying stuff when I was 8 weeks pregnant. I had this gut feeling I was pregnant with a girl , so from day 1 I bought all girl items. Baby was indeed a girl 😂😂

i would think it would be easier to get stuff once you know what youre having (unless you plan on doing a gender neutral theme). but then again....im not even pregnant yet and i already have a crib 😂
