Why is pregnancy most commonly referred to as 9 months when it’s actually 10?

It's common to think of a month as 4 weeks, when it's actually just a few days longer, which is why it is 9 months. But, 40 weeks ÷ 4 weeks = 10 "months" so there's a common misconception.
