What to do?

My daughter will be 8 months on Friday. She's not crawling yet. She does try but just isn't interested, she'll roll where she wants to go and crawl backwards. She loves walking, she'll walk so well if you hold her hands. Should I keep focusing on helping her crawl or focus on helping her walk?

Encourage crawling!! It's important for babies to crawl before walking because it helps their spines develop properly. I'm friends with a bunch of chiropractors who explained that to me. My daughter is also almost 8 months old and still not crawling or walking but she can roll and is getting ready to crawl.

you can encourage it by just putting her on her tummy and lifting her up only at her stomach to get her in the crawling position. babies do things on their own time so don't stress about it. also you can place toys in front of her but a little out of reach so she can scoot towards it to get it.

I was going thru the same thing about a week ago until I talked to my mom about it. She told me a story about how when I was a baby my mom went to visit someone who had a baby the same age as me that was crawling all over the place and there I was sitting like a sack of potatoes. A few months later I crawled only to reach the table and start walking. Literally 1 minute of crawling as she likes to say lol and my brother did roughly the same thing. So I think the crawling stage is kind of optional in baby growth. Don’t stress love ! My daughter is the same way and is 8 months old on the 5th

One of my twins is crawling and the other isn’t. Every baby just develops at their own pace. Sometimes I worry mine still aren’t sitting on their own, but I am trying to be patient. Also I’ve known some babies who didn’t crawl until they were a year old.

Just walk with her. She’ll crawl when she wants to. My oldest skipped crawling and was fully walking at 9 months, holding on to one finger at 8 like yours.   Totally 👍🏼.

Some babies skip the whole crawling phase. I'd just encourage her in any type of activity that she's interested in at the moment. My son is very interested in trying to hands and knees crawl and not very interested in standing or walking with help
