Mucus plug vs bloody show

I’ve done A LOT of googling about this but haven’t found anything to be helpful. Is there a difference between the mucus plug and bloody show? Some forms said the mucous plug is clear or yellowish and means labor is days or weeks away and a bloody show is bloody mucus and labor will start within hours. I’ve also read there’s no difference. With my daughter I lost my mucus plug and had her a week later. It just looked like snot. This time I’ve lost a little bloody mucus 2 days ago and this morning a lot. Anyone have some insight?
