A letter to my ex

Laurel

It was not okay. The way you treated me was not okay. It was not okay for you to call me a whore when that man groped me. It wasn't okay for you to tell me I didn't look that good on prom night (which btw I did look damn good). It wasn't okay for you to ignore me when I spent the night with you. It wasn't okay for you to get mad at me for celebrating my birthday. It wasnt okay for you to tell me I wasn't doing enough, while I was standing in my bedroom hanging your clothes up in my closet when you got kicked out. It was not okay for you to sit there and watch me sob, and still tell me that no man would ever put any time or effort into me like you did. The way you treated me was not okay.

I am writing this for any woman that has been taught by a man that she is not enough. Let him go. Even if it's the hardest thing you have ever done. The best, and most empowering thing you can do for yourself, is to let go. The pictures below show the difference between me then, and me now 💜
