Exclusively Pumping to feed?

Question

Is it possible to feed LO by exclusively pumping and bottle feeding. If you've done It, advice/suggestions would be great. We haven't been able to latch so this is my last resort.

Yes I did it for 4 months.  It is literally double the work since you have to pump AND feed, but it can be done.

10.5 months now and it is a TON of work (not trying to deter you, I just didn't realize when I started out and now I'm stuck bc my daughter would rather starve than drink formula 😔)   don't make the same mistake I did, continue attempting to nurse BEFORE each bottle and he may just get the hang of it. I did it backwards and it was heartbreaking having her scream anytime my breasts came anywhere near her 😭    some great resources to look into:  exclusivelypumping.com and the exclusively pumping group on here. and there's no shame in supplementing or switching completely to formula! if I could go back in time, I would have introduced formula earlier on so that she wouldn't end up refusing it at 9 months when my supply suddenly tanked

I tried and my milk started to go away, finally he got the hang of latching and I still don’t have enough for him, but it’s better than nothing a we supplement with formula!

I exclusively pumped for 7 months with my first. I didn’t like actual breastfeeding, but had a great supply and didn’t want it to go to waste. It does take some planning and a time commitment, but it’s worth it if you can do it! KellyMom is an awesome resource along with exclusivelypumping.com. I pumped for 20 minutes every 2-3 hours during the day and every time the baby woke up to eat at night. After about 4 months I only did every 4 hours. I would really recommend getting a hands free bra! It changed my pumping life haha 😊 best of luck, mama!
