How long does CM last at its peak days?

I have CM that is egg white and stretchy. You know the one that is just right for bd. I just want to know how long has anyone had it for? Like how many days? I’m going on 3 and i really don’t like the feeling. Plus I have been taking metformin for pre diabetes. So I’m hoping it’s an actual ovulation for me. I’ve experienced this mucus before but never really paid an attention to it. And it’s been a long while.
