Any other mamas breastfeeding while pregnant? I’ve been breastfeeding my son for 19 months and now I’m expecting baby #2 and still continuing to breastfeed. I’ve gotten a lot of backlash from some friends and family about needing to stop before baby #2 comes 🙄 but I’m thinking of tandem nursing 🧡 any mamas who have tandem nursed? I’d appreciate some tips on it

I am. I am only 6 weeks +3 and my toddler is 31 months. I know quite a few tandem feeders, and apparently the toddler is very helpful in the newborn engorged days and it helps them feel secure. However my nursling made it past the World Health Organisation recommendation of 2 years and beyond, so if my supply drops while pregnant and he weans I will go with that.

My son was 9 months when I found out I was pregnant, so I absolutely kept nursing him. He just weaned at 14 months (I was 27 weeks at that point), but I am very open to him nursing again after baby 2 comes and nursing them both. He’ll be 17 months when she is due. 
My mom tandem nursed my sister and I, and we are 13 months apart. I stopped nursing at 18 months and she also stopped at 18 months.

My mother nursed my brother when she was pregnant with me and when I was born she had me on one tit and him on the other. Although I know nothing about it or the risks, I feel like it’s always been a normal thing.
