Birth control without prescription?

So my boyfriend and I have been dating for a year and a half and we are both almost 16, and feel ready to have sex, but I want to have full protection. I don’t want to have the birth control conversation with my parents because... awkward. Is there any way I can get birth control without a doctor prescription?

I was 13 when I talked to my mother about sex. I was on birth control the next week.
Unless you have another reason other than “awkward” to not be talking to your parents about this then I’m just gonna say. YOUR NOT READY TO HAVE SEX!
If your parents are very religious, or something along those lines, then I would understand not wanting to talk to them. But if you think it’s just awkward? Then girl let me tell how awkward getting naked or having sex for the first time actually is. 
For most of us, our first time is not this magical experience, it’s uncomfortable, awkward, clumsy. And that’s only getting the clothes off.

Besides condoms all birth control is prescription. It must be prescribed by a doctor. Birth control has side effects and risks that doctors need to evaluate before prescribing it. You can try places like
Planned parenthood as they have doctors who can help. But you will need to see a doctor.

Condoms are like 99% effective when used properly. Put on straight away, not too small for the guy, etc.
Only thought would be to check into planned parenthood? Google for one closest to you and give them a call. 
Not sure honestly since you’re under 18. My mom got me on BC when I was around 16. If they aren’t super religious or something you should probably ask her... tell her nothing has happened but you want to be responsible.
